Officially titled "I See What You Mean," sculptor Lawrence Argent's 40-foot cobalt-blue bear has stood outside the Colorado Convention Center since 2005, leaning in to peer through the glass as if it wandered in from the mountains and got curious about what was happening inside. It's become one of Denver's most recognizable pieces of public art largely because it's free, permanently on view, and photographs well from almost any angle on 14th Street between Stout and California. Locals will tell you the joke is really on the bear — from certain angles it looks less curious than genuinely stuck, paws pressed to the glass. It costs nothing to see and takes only a few minutes, so it works well tacked onto a downtown walk rather than as a dedicated destination, and it's an easy stop before or after a Meow Wolf or LoDo evening.
