TIFF returns Sept 10-20, 2026 for its 51st edition.
For eleven days every September, Toronto becomes one of the biggest stages in film. The Toronto International Film Festival returns September 10-20, 2026 for its 51st edition, with the festival's new industry hub, TIFF: The Market, running the first week (September 10-16) at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
TIFF has grown, since its 1976 founding, into one of the festivals that genuinely shape the awards conversation each year. Unlike Cannes or Venice, TIFF is famously a public festival at its core: thousands of tickets go directly to the public, filling the festival's signature venues along King Street and around the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
The festival footprint sits just a few blocks north of Toronto's harbourfront. Harbourfront Centre, the Toronto Islands ferry terminal, and the waterfront trail are all a short walk from the festival village, giving anyone in town for TIFF an easy way to trade a crowded lobby for open water and skyline views.
Book accommodation early -- downtown hotel rates climb noticeably during TIFF week. Public tickets for individual screenings go on sale ahead of the festival and popular titles sell out fast.
SpinQuest just launched Lake Ontario Shores, a brand-new wheel built around the Canadian side of the lake -- 37 real quests spanning Toronto's own waterfront (Harbourfront Centre, Woodbine Beach, Trillium Park) out to Hamilton, Cobourg, Prince Edward County, and Kingston.
